Dear all,
FAPA’s greatest strength and 25 years of solid, good reputation on Capitol Hill are built upon our members’ continuous grassroots outreach. We are proud to say that FAPA is the organization that advocates on Taiwan’s behalf in the United States Congress.
Back by popular demand, FAPA Young Professional Group’s annual “Advocacy for Taiwan” weekend, provides young supporters of Taiwan a unique opportunity to learn basic knowledge and skills to be effective advocates for Taiwan as constituent. The grassroots advocacy conference is also a great network to get to know other young, similarly pro-Taiwan supporters!
This year, our “Advocacy for Taiwan” weekend—from September 7, Friday evening, to September 10, Monday morning—will be open to both FAPA YPG members and regular FAPA members. I am sure the young can learn a thing or two from the not-so-young and vice versa! After all, the countless not-so-young FAPA members built this great organization a quarter of a century ago.
The deadline for registration is Friday, August 10.
Download the PDF or Microsoft Word Document application and submit your completed copy and your résumé; to Iris Ho at FAPA Headquarters. You can also download and view the preliminary agenda for the conference. (If you require a PDF viewer application, Adobe Acrobat Reader may be downloaded for free.)

Conference participants will be responsible for their own transportation and some meals. FAPA will pay for hotel accommodation in Washington, D.C. (two people share a room) and some meals. We highly encourage you to stay the extra day of September 10, Monday for congressional visits. Those who cannot stay on Monday should contact their members of Congress when they return home.
Members of FAPA YPG should contact FAPA Headquarters if they need financial assistance to attend this conference. Those who receive financial assistance are required to stay on Monday for congressional visits. Financial assistance will be granted on a limited basis.
When the voice of the Taiwanese people in the international community is silenced by Chinese pressure, you can be their voice. When there are so many other international issues vying for Congressional attention, the voice of Taiwan cannot be absent.
Join us for a weekend and advocate for Taiwan!
Regards,
Iris Ho
