Note: View the FAPA-NJ 2008 Annual Meeting agenda [.pdf].
This event will take place in New Jersey; even if you are not from Jersey (say the NYC area), you should still attend. This is a very important event for all of us to discuss and share ideas, especially the second generation.
FAPA-YPG NY/NJ should really come up with a way to travel there. I encourage most YPG members to donate $12 but it’s not really necessary as said in the email.
If you are not sure if you can come until past October 22nd, then just come anyway although dinner isn’t guaranteed. However if you know you can come now, please RSVP by sending an email to Sean Su and Chuck Chang. Thank you.
Sean Su
Dear all:
You are cordially invited to attend the FAPA-NJ 2008 annual meeting for members, supporters, and anyone who cares about Taiwan.
Attached please find the meeting agenda [.pdf]. As you will note, one of our tasks in the meeting is the election of a new FAPA-NJ president. I am also pleased to announce that Mr. Steve Lonegan, former mayor of Bogota, NJ, will speak to us on subjects related to freedom, justice, and democracy for Taiwan. Mr. Coen Blaauw from FAPA Headquarters in Washington, DC will update us on FAPA activities, discuss FAPA future direction, and comment on 2008 US presidential election. Sean Su, a member of FAPA-NY/NJ Young Professional Group (YPG) will share his experience on partnership with Free Tibet Movement group, and members of YPG will tell us why they joined FAPA.
I expect this meeting to be an exciting one. Won’t you please join us? We would like to hear your input on how FAPA should operate in the future, and, collectively, how can we work together with other organizations to safeguard Taiwan’s sovereignty.
To prepare the dinner boxes, we need a head count estimate by Wednesday, October 22. Thus, please register now by calling or emailing me by the deadline. Please be advised that no dinner boxes will be served to those who register after the deadline or show up on site at the last minute.
I look forward to hearing your positive response shortly. Meanwhile, please let me know should you have any questions. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Chuck Chang
