Who is Freddy?
Freddy is the lead singer of the popular Taiwanese black metal band ChthoniC, which was formed in December 1995. He is known for creating music with political themes and intertwined with Taiwanese folklore. His band has performed at many international rock festivals around the world, and was prevented from performing in China after being labeled as “pro-independence musicians.” He spearheaded presidential candidate Frank Hsieh’s 2008 campaign focusing on the Taiwanese youth vote.
