A map of Capitol Hill, one of the Advocacy Handbook’s many useful features, shows you just where to go when visiting your Senator or Representative!

Published by our Lobbying Co-chairs, Julia Famularo, Tony Lee, and Albert Tseng, this comprehensive guide includes everything you need to know about advocating for Taiwan.

When meeting with members of Congress, focus on one to three issues that are important to you. Make sure you come prepared with the relevant background information and statistics, as applicable. It is often helpful to keep in mind how supporting a particular issue will not only benefit Taiwan, but also further U.S. interests and the interests of his/her constituency. Remember, the primary responsibility of Congress is to protect American interests. Connect your issue to larger concerns, such as the promotion of democracy or human rights, or local concerns, such as how this issue can benefit a particular constituency (i.e. increased volume of trade).
